Promoting fiction with a web novel in blog format

Some fiction writers cultivate a following of readers by publishing their work as online serials, web novels, or blog novels. Common web publishing tools like RSS feeds and email subscriptions help readers stay connected and follow the stories. This web fiction scene is especially popular with graphic novels.

Because I already give away in ebook formats the first novel of my fantasy series, I decided to set up a web fantasy novel at the Wordpress publishing system. This should increase my exposure to potential fantasy readers and provide people an easy way to read the novel online.

I will be adding chapters every Tuesday and Thursday until all forty chapters of Union of Renegades are posted. Enthusiasts of web fiction can start reading at fantasywebfiction.wordpress.com.

Additionally, I have included a page at this new web novel blog for other web fiction writers to promote their online serials, graphic novels, and web novels. Writers can add links and descriptions of their fiction at the More Web Fiction page through the comment system.

Weekend Link Party

Despite the utter vastness of the internet, it's easy to get stuck visiting the same websites all the time. I'm always looking for something new and interesting, but such things are often hard to find until you serendipitously encounter a link to a website previously unknown to you. That's why these "link love" style blog posts tend to be rather interesting, so I'm going to try and make a habit of regularly writing one.

Pill Hill Press - About a week ago, I was contacted by this small publisher about reviewing a fantasy anthology for them. The book is titled Shadows & Light and I'm currently reading it. Located in Nebraska, Pill Hill Press claims to operate out of a restored haunted house. So far from what I've read of Shadows & Light, I can say that this press puts out good work.

Ebook Plaza - This fledgling blog about ebook reading was kind enough to share one of my YouTube video reviews and link to one of my websites, and I'm returning the favor.

People of Wal-mart - This website has been my shameless obsession for a couple months. It publishes photos of people (and sometimes animals) that were taken in Wal-mart stores or its parking lots. The photos and captions here often deliver a good laugh...or assault your eyeballs with images that would make a circus freak wince. Either way, you are now one click from losing faith in humanity.
